From the election’s navigation menu, navigate to the **Email Blast** page. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a78bcdfe-0fc1-4248-a709-1fe58ecd1ca1/Images/Documentation/image(200).png) Finalization is Required for Any Email Sending No email blasts will be sent while an election is in **Draft** status. Only elections that have been **Finalized** can send out scheduled email blasts. ## “From” Field In the **From** field, you may specify who the message is from. By default, this will be the name of your **Organization** as defined in your account’s [**Settings > Organization**](https://www1.simplyvoting.com/manage/manage.php?mode=settings&tab=account) page. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a78bcdfe-0fc1-4248-a709-1fe58ecd1ca1/Images/Documentation/image(201).png) Email blasts are sent by vote@simplyvoting.com unless a custom email address is configured. Replies to email blasts will be forwarded to the **Public Email Address** as defined in your account’s [**Settings > Voting Website**](https://www1.simplyvoting.com/manage/manage.php?mode=settings&tab=details) page, or (under some configurations) to the **Reply-To** address defined on the **Election Details** page. ## “To” Options You have several options when choosing the recipients of your Email Blasts: All electors, Electors that have not voted, Nominees that have not confirmed (if applicable), or Specific electors. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a78bcdfe-0fc1-4248-a709-1fe58ecd1ca1/Images/Documentation/image(203).png) ### All electors In most cases, you’ll want to use this option for your **initial email blast**. The email blast will go out to all electors with a valid email address. The number of electors with a valid email address is displayed in parentheses next to “All electors”. This number excludes any addresses that are on the [**Bad Emails**](/v1/docs/managing-bad-emails) list. ### Electors that have not voted In most cases, you’ll want to use this option for **reminder email blasts**. The email blast will go out to electors with a valid email address who haven’t voted yet **at the moment of sending**. The number of electors with a valid email address who have not voted is displayed in parentheses next to “Electors that have not voted”. This number excludes any addresses that are on the [**Bad Emails**](/v1/docs/managing-bad-emails) list. Note: When scheduling a reminder email ahead of time, the number of electors who haven’t voted is likely to be smaller by the time the email blast goes out than when you scheduled it. ### Nominees that have not confirmed > [!WARNING] > This option requires the [**Allow nominees to confirm their nomination**](/v1/docs/nomination-election-details#allow-nominees-to-confirm-their-nomination) setting to be enabled in **Election Details** prior to finalization. In most cases, you’ll want to use this option at the **end of the nomination period**, to notify nominees of their pending nomination(s). The email blast will go out to nominees with a valid email address who haven’t yet accepted nor declined their nomination **at the moment of sending**. The number of nominees with a valid email address who have not accepted nor declined their nomination is displayed in parentheses next to “Nominees that have not confirmed”. This number excludes any addresses that are on the [**Bad Emails**](/v1/docs/managing-bad-emails) list. Note: When scheduling a reminder to nominees ahead of time, the number of unconfirmed nominees may be smaller by the time the email blast goes out than when you scheduled it. ### Specific electors You may need this option to **resend** invitations or reminders to individual electors with bounced email addresses that have been corrected, in addition to countless other possible reasons. For detailed instructions on using this option, please see [Sending Email Blasts to Specific Electors](/v1/docs/sending-email-to-specific-electors). ## Subject and Body You may specify the subject of the email message in the **Subject** field. By default, this will be the name of the election. The voting system provides you with a default content template, but the **Body** of the email is a free form text field so you can add, remove, and format content as you would like. Reloading Most Recent Blast You may also optionally use the **Reload most recent from, subject and body** button to populate the specified fields with the last email blast you sent. ![EM_redesign_pre_election_email_blast_reload](https://cdn.document360.io/a78bcdfe-0fc1-4248-a709-1fe58ecd1ca1/Images/Documentation/EM_redesign_pre_election_email_blast_reload.png) Alternatively, you may use the **Reload** button for a specific email blast located in the the **Email Blast History**. This comes in handy if you have varying messages you are sending to your voters. ![EM_redesign_pre_election_email_blast_history_reload](https://cdn.document360.io/a78bcdfe-0fc1-4248-a709-1fe58ecd1ca1/Images/Documentation/EM_redesign_pre_election_email_blast_history_reload.png) In the **Body**, items in **{{double brackets}}** indicate specific elector data fields, which will be unique to each recipient, and the system will automatically fill in the appropriate placeholders information when the emails are sent out to electors: - Use **{{name}}** to address your electors *(Elector ID is used if Name is unavailable)*. - Use **{{elector_id}}** and **{{password}}** to supply electors with their voting credentials. - Use **{{voting_website_link}}** to provide electors with the link to your voting website's login page. - Use **{{direct_vote_link}}** to allow electors to bypass logging in manually by allowing them to click on a unique securely encoded hyperlink in the message. To use a **placeholder**, simply start typing two open curly brackets (i.e. **{{** ) to open a dynamic auto-complete menu of available placeholders depending on the features activated on your account and relevant to this specific field. ![email_blast_editor_en.png](https://cdn.document360.io/a78bcdfe-0fc1-4248-a709-1fe58ecd1ca1/Images/Documentation/email_blast_editor_en.png) ## Preview and Schedule Once satisfied with the **Body** of your message, click on the **Preview & Schedule** button. This final **preview** helps ensure that your **{{placeholders in brackets}}** are properly formatted and functioning correctly with *dummy fictitious elector data* from a "John Doe." Review the **preview** and once satisfied in the **Schedule** section you can now schedule an email blast to be sent to your electors **at the election's start**, inviting them to vote in your election, and supplying them with their unique voting credentials and instructions. Alternatively, you can opt to **send an email blast later** at a specific date and time of your choosing. Click the **Submit** button when you are ready to confirm and schedule. ![preview_email_blast_en.png](https://cdn.document360.io/a78bcdfe-0fc1-4248-a709-1fe58ecd1ca1/Images/Documentation/preview_email_blast_en.png) After scheduling your email blast, a yellow **Finalization Pending** notice will appear at the top of the page, and the **Email Blast History** section will be updated with your new email blast. ![EM_redesign_pre_election_email_blast_finalization_pending](https://cdn.document360.io/a78bcdfe-0fc1-4248-a709-1fe58ecd1ca1/Images/Documentation/EM_redesign_pre_election_email_blast_finalization_pending.png) More Information For more information about **Managing Email Blasts**, please refer to the [**Managing Email Blasts**](/v1/docs/en/managing-email-blasts) article.
