Article Summary

Below are additional items that may or may not have an impact on your election setup.

Other Elections Run Not Requiring Weighted Voting

Once weighted voting is activated on an account, it becomes available for all elections.

If you desire to run an election that does not technically require the weighted voting function, you may manually add electors with a vote weight value of 1, or you simply set all electors to have a vote weight value of 1 in your .CSV file.

Alternatively, during the import mapping process, if you omit any vote weight column, the Voting System will automatically set all vote weight values to 1.

Whenever all electors have their vote weight value set as 1, results will be calculated essentially as if no weights were being factored.

Specifying Elector Vote Weights in Description Fields

Optionally, you may wish to specify and inform electors about their specific vote weight value for transparency or other reasons. This can be done in the Description field in the Election Details section, in the Description field in the Question Details section, and in the Body field in the Email Blast section. The placeholder for vote weight is: {{weight}}.

To use a placeholder, simply start typing two open curly brackets (e.g. {{ ) to open a dynamic auto-complete menu of available placeholders depending on the features activated on your account and relevant to this specific field.

Voting Receipts and Vote Weights

By default, an elector’s vote weight will appear on their Voting Receipt after they have confirmed and submitted their vote.
